ABOUT THE MUSICIAN
When I was ten years old, my mother and I were visiting my uncle grandfather, Luiz Ferreira, in Ceará-Mirim city.
That patriarch married to three sisters, became widowed three times, and died alone. He had twelve children and He organized small family orchestra.
My mother and I spending the afternoon listening classical music. It was the first time that I saw many musicians playing together. We stayed there until the end. There were many instruments: a piano, violins, viola, guitar and others. That was an unforgetble day for the boy I was.
After this, I spent a week without thinking of something else and tried convince my mother that I wanted to become a musician as good as my cousins - children of the patriarch - as good as my mother’s grandfather, Mestre João Leiros who dominated instruments and wrote some valses and religious songs.
Then the musical introduction, I’ve studed piano, in Natal with the Master Waldemar de Almeida, graduated in Germany. I was his student for five years. That this time I studied with “Dulce Cicco”, “Nilda Guerra Cunha Lima”, “Gerardo Parente” and “Albert Kaplan”.
In 1962 I was livinig in Rio. I’ve lived there for about twelve years. For these reasons, I had to stoped my piano studies but I continued on music theory, harmony and counterpoint. When I returned to Natal, I studied of musical regency with Pe. Pedro Ferreira, Master of the “Coral Canto do Povo”. After that I began to study singing technics with the teacher “Adenilde Cunha”, worked my baritone voice potential. Then, I studied with “Nino Crime”. At the some time I developed my studies in harmony to improve my musical compositions.
In the way to “Instituto de Música Waldemar de Almeida” in Natal, I created the “Camerata Oswaldo de Souza”, with musicinans of the “Orquestra Sinfônica do Rio Grande do Norte”.
So, to support the orchestra, I created a music Course in Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue, and a “Quinteto Oficina” to train composers. This quintet worked with the compositions that the students made during the course.the beginning of my studies music’s.

I played some concerts, and I showed music wrote by me like: “Sonho de um Cello”, for violoncello and orchestra, “Crespúsculo no Solar da Madalena”, “Alma Nordestina”, and “Balada para Daphne”.
Nowadays I don’t play anymore like before. Now, I think that I came only a music’s vibration. Sometimes, I play piano and sing old songs of my young age.
